Meet Our Admissions Director

A part of ULS for the past 15 years, Deb Smith is a one-woman welcome wagon. Maybe it’s her warm personality, the level of attention she showers on those she works with, or the fact that, as the parent of a ULS alum, she understands the concerns parents face, but both parents and students stay in touch with Deb long after graduation.

Deb is most likely the first to greet you when you enter our campus. With almost 20 years of experience in admissions and school management, she can answer—or find the answer—to any question thrown her way.

0099 Debra SmithWelcome to University Lake School! I look forward to getting to know you, and your child, and answering your questions about the amazing opportunities afforded to your child at ULS. We welcome inquiries throughout the year. Please stop by, call, email or contact me to schedule a personalized tour or request an inquiry packet.
Warmly,
Deb Smith

International Program

ULS attracts students from all over the world.  Students from China, Korea, Germany, Chile, Spain and Italy are attending or have recently attended ULS. International students bring a rich diversity to our campus and help bring depth to the education of our local students with new perspectives and insights. We work with a variety of agencies to enroll international students, including:

Wisconsin International Academy (WIA) — a Total-Care™ residential program for international students enrolled at private and parochial high schools in the metro Milwaukee area that helps students prepare for admission to competitive colleges and universities in America and beyond.

Total-Care™ dormitory and home-stay services include local parenting, meals, lodging, transportation, leadership development, college application preparation and community service. WIA provides English language teachers and tutors for students in each of the partner schools. WIA is headquartered in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

If you have questions or are interested in learning more about WIA Total-Care program, please contact them at admissions@wiaedu.org.

American Homestay Services & Education Programs for International Students (AHLI) — a leading provider of American homestay and education programs for international students.  They are committed to helping students succeed by placing them in the right schools and in the best academic or cultural programs.

International Experience (IE) — providers of a personalized, relationship-focused platform in which international students, their host families, and their host communities connect, relate and explore both the differences that define us as well as the similarities that unite us.  IE provides opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange, helping to create a world where cultural diversity is valued and celebrated.
