We are seeking a talented, effective, and dedicated Assistant Preprimary Teacher to co-teach in a preprimary classroom and ensure the success of all students. This Teacher should be passionate about impacting academic achievement and making a difference in children's lives through high-quality instruction. This appointment is valid for the 2025-26 school year.Essential functions and expectations:
- With a lead teacher, construct a rich classroom environment in concert with the Reggio Emilia approach, including regular adjustments and adaptations to bring to life the learning of the students.
- Support the lead teacher in evaluating and documenting student performance against learning objectives, portfolios, report cards/narratives, and actively participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress, problems, strengths, concerns, or other pertinent issues of the student.
- Care about kids, within and beyond the classroom, and exhibit enthusiasm for the topics one teaches.
- Collaborate as a team player with teaching colleagues and administrators. Partner with parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to communicate effectively and frequently with them.
- Market the school with a willingness to showcase one's teaching and to communicate with prospective families and students.
- Support school activities by attending, participating, and assisting with school events as required, such as Laker Playgroup, Open Houses, and other large-scale community events.

Hiring an In-House Speech Pathologist is a critical component toward the achievement of these goals.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Screening and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students with communication disorders, including articulation, language comprehension, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing difficulties.
- Learning Plans (LPs): Participate in LP meetings, developing appropriate goals and interventions for each student based on their needs, and collaborating with teachers and the Learning Engagement Team to incorporate speech therapy into the classroom.
- Treatment Delivery: Providing individual, small group, and within the classroom therapy sessions using evidence-based practices to address specific communication challenges.
- Parent Communication: Regularly communicating with parents about their child's progress, providing education on communication disorders, and involving them in the therapy process.
- Data Collection and Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of student progress, including therapy sessions, assessments, and interventions.
- Professional Development: Staying current with best practices in speech pathology through continuing education and research. Lead and participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of intervention strategies.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive educational environment and to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students with communication needs. Consult with teachers and other members of the Learning Engagement Team to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of children.
Typical disorders a school speech pathologist might address:
- Articulation disorders (difficulty producing speech sounds clearly)
- Language delays or disorders (problems understanding or using language)
- Fluency disorders (stuttering)
- Voice disorders (hoarseness, breathiness)
- Phonological awareness difficulties (problems with sound patterns in words)

This person should be passionate about the role of art in the development of a student's artistic and intellectual curiosity. Our ideal candidate has a background in the visual arts and experience in a project-based learning environment. This appointment is for August 18, 2025 through November 21, 2025.
Essential functions and expectations:
- Work with Art Teacher to plan and execute lesson plans for the first trimester of the 2025-26 school year. Submit grades on the Student Information System in a timely manner. Write report card comments at the end of the trimester, following the report card guidelines set by the School. Art Courses include:
- Intro to Art (2 sections, half credit)
Students become acquainted with a variety of basic technical, aesthetic, and organizational approaches to studio art and visual language with an emphasis on two and three dimensional problem solving. They will explore different media and art processes such as; drawings, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, and ceramics. Students will also be introduced to the art critique process that will take place at the end of each project.
- Ceramics (1 section, half credit)
Through the creation of both sculptural and practical pieces, this course provides students with the opportunity to develop a basic knowledge of ceramics. Students will work primarily with handbuilding techniques and be introduced to wheel work. Students will also explore finishing techniques for their fired pieces. The course encompasses all ceramics related skills including hand building, wheel throwing, underglazing, glazing, firing, and aspects of how to sustain a ceramic studio.
- Drawing (1 section, half credit)
Students will build and advance their skills using dry media to communicate visually. They will explore and use materials such as professional drawing pencils, design markers, color pencils, charcoal, ink, pastels, and a variety of different papers. Skills may include realism and abstraction, proportion and perspective, form in still life, face formula in portraits, and spatial depth in landscapes. There is an emphasis on experimentation with mediums and form.
- AP Portfolio Art (1 section, full credit)
Through an in-depth, sustained investigation of materials, processes, and ideas, AP Art and Design students develop and apply skills of inquiry and investigation, practice, experimentation, revision, communication, and reflection to learn about design and make art. Focusing on concepts and skills emphasized within college foundational courses, students become inquisitive, thoughtful artists and designers able to articulate information about their work.
Portfolio Specific: Students begin by exploring mediums and subject matter to narrow down a focus for a larger body of work/ portfolio
AP specific: Over the course of a year, students create a portfolio that includes works of art and design, process documentation, and written information about the work presented. In May, students submit their portfolios to the College Board for AP evaluation.
- Middle School Art , 5th-8th grade
Students become acquainted with the 7 elements of art (line, shape, form, space, texture, color, and value) through a variety of different media and art processes such as drawings, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, and ceramics. Students will focus on the proper use of a variety of art materials and mediums. They will learn basic technical, aesthetic, and organizational approaches to studio art and visual language with an emphasis on two and three dimensional problem solving.
- Yearbook (1 section, half credit)
Students in this class will produce the school yearbook. Students will exercise creative freedom in both design and photography. Page design, page layout, and photography will work in tandem with the writing that is produced. All student publications will showcase ULS and may be shared publicly. Time management with regard to deadlines will also be a key skill required in the course.
- Intro to Art (2 sections, half credit)
Requirements: - Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a degree in, Art Education, Studio Art degree, or related field.
- Ability to participate as needed in after school events such as parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, fine arts programs, and/or professional development.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, the leadership team and the administration for classroom experiences, special events, and other needs as required. Presents and prepares materials at various events as needed throughout the year including open houses, gallery nights, and other events as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of the Arts and a commitment to the school’s philosophy of integrating arts programming.
