MUSIC

The ULS music program teaches our students to explore the study and personal expression of music.

Students attend music class twice weekly. They explore the role of music within culture and society, as well as develop vocal skills as a mode of expression, individually and within a chorus. Students have the opportunity to experiment with various musical instruments such as the xylophone, bongo drums and piano. The ULS Music Program is showcased twice per year in a winter and spring concert.

In 7th and 8th grade, all students participate in choir class twice weekly. The ULS Music Program is showcased twice per year in a winter and spring concert.

In the Upper School, participation in the concert choir is an elective course students can take to fulfill their fine arts requirement. In addition, there are a select group of students who audition to be a part of chamber ensemble. Both men’s and women’s ensembles, as well as hand bell choir, are offered as extracurricular activities. The ULS Music Program is showcased twice per year in a winter and spring concert.
