Greetings First Grade Families,

My name is Ann Zakszewski and I am one of the teachers in the first grade this year. This is my 14th year teaching first grade and my 18th year at ULS. It is amazing to admit that I have a teaching career totaling 21 years. First grade is a very special time and I am always honored to have children spend that year with me. I have a Masters in Reading from Alverno College where I earned the certification as a Reading Specialist. I have two wonderful children that both attend ULS. Genevieve is in 7th grade and Anthony is in 5th.

In my free time I enjoy gardening, doing projects with my children, and watching television! Yep, I will confess I am a reality show junkie–Top Chef, Project Runway, and any cooking show to name a few. I would love to admit I like to cook, but what I really enjoy is going out to eat and trying new places. I appreciate small town dives as well as fine dining. I also enjoy shopping and love a great sale! If I was not a teacher, I would go back to school to be an interior decorator and own a store of my own.

Thank you for ALL you do! Here’s to a great year!
