Formerly Miss Burke, my name changed to Reeder since the wedding and big move to Pewaukee Lake in 2015. I had been living on the East Side of Milwaukee during my first few years at ULS, but I’m originally from the Chicago area. I spent the past summers teaching Oral Communications at Wauwatosa West High School and attending graduate school for my principal’s license. Prior to ULS, I taught junior American Literature and sophomore English at Palatine High School, a large public school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I was also a Title I Teaching Assistant in 10th grade Reading Strategies, as well as a school newspaper adviser at PHS. Additionally, I tutored English and Reading ACT preparation and middle school Language Arts at Huntington Learning Center in Buffalo Grove, IL. I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in Family and Consumer Science Education, and I stayed busy as a news reporter for the Daily Vidette and maintained multiple leadership positions in student organizations, for one of which I currently serve on the advisory board. I spent five years teaching preschool munchkins every summer and winter at KinderCare Learning Center in Wheeling, IL. I also ran track as a sprinter and played basketball throughout school.
