Last week 5-6th graders went to the Oconomowoc River to help restore it to better health. The goal of this annual trip is to make the river faster, deeper and colder. This year students and teachers cut trees that were hindering the flow of the river, built new wing dams by moving large rocks from the middle of the river, and repaired old wing dams. They also got to see native grasses planted by past students that help with shore erosion. The grasses were 3-inches high two years ago, and now are taller than the students! #BrillianceBegins #handsonlearning
