Invest in YOUR CHILD'S future
Education is the Most Significant Investment You Will Make in Your Child's Life
At University Lake School, we recognize that investing in your child's education is an investment in their future. Tuition at ULS covers an experience that is unparalleled, offering students access to 180 acres of forests, fields, gardens, prairies, and classrooms. Our curriculum provides a complete laboratory for learning, amplified by local and global leadership experiences beyond campus.
Our close knit community of teachers and parents enable strong relationships with students, nurturing their talents and interests. Young people leave ULS equipped for lives of leadership and service to humanity
The indexed tuition model allows for families to make this investment in a way that is meaningful and attainable for their circumstances.
Wait Pools for Limited Space
Current interest in ULS exceeds our available space. All families interested in attending ULS should apply by the deadline for the first application period of the school year; this includes currently enrolled students wishing to return. Current ULS students and their siblings are given first priority. After the first enrollment period, spaces will open for new families in our wait pool.
If you are a new family looking to ensure the best chance for a spot, please complete each step of the admissions process prior to the first application deadline.

Indexed Tuition
The indexed tuition model allows for families to make the investment in a ULS education attainable for their circumstances. The model follows moderation guidelines set forth by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The formula takes into account household income, debts, assets, unusual expenses or circumstances, number of children attending tuition-paying schools, and more.
We understand that there is great diversity in family circumstances. Our indexed tuition program recognizes those differences and provides a range of tuition so that we charge the rates that are right for each family. And since indexing tracks with changing circumstances and the cost of living, families who attend ULS know that they can stay at ULS.
Unsure if you qualify? Here are some general guidelines before factoring for assets, debt, gifts, etc.
- Families with 1 child attending ULS with an annual household income under $175,000 may qualify for an indexed rate.
- Families with 2 children attending ULS with an annual household income under $250,000 may qualify for an indexed rate.
- For families with 3 or more children attending ULS, multi-student family packages are available upon consultation.
- Scholarships are available for qualified families on a limited basis to further offset the indexed rate.
To determine where you fall on the indexed tuition range, University Lake School partners with SSS, a third party financial processor of Indexed Tuition applications. Submitting an indexed tuition application will not impact in any way the decision to admit your child. Information submitted is confidential and not used for any purpose other than setting indexed tuition.
ULS has a generous indexed tuition budget; however, it is not unlimited. Applications for 2024-25 are now open. To be considered in the first round of tuition indexing, please apply and have all supporting documentation submitted by January 12, 2024. Beyond this initial date, applications are considered on a rolling basis.
