STRATEGIC PLANNING

The Strategic Planning process will ensure that ULS is at the forefront of independent college-preparatory education. ULS parents, alumni, alumni parents, students, faculty and staff all have a voice in this effort.

UPDATES

The 2020-21 school year has just begun; however, we have already taken steps to complete a few initiatives in alignment with our strategic vision. The first initiative of the plan, the hiring of Mrs. Rebecca Tiffany as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment, has proven instrumental in creating plans for a very unique year. The focus of the role on curriculum assessment, review and improvement, faculty professional development, and student assessment are always important -- and perhaps even more so this year. Learn more.

A second initiative to utilize our outdoor spaces has proven timely. As a step toward the larger concept, our spacious campus has many outdoor learning spaces this fall.

Our mission: University Lake School delivers an incomparable education through the pursuit of academic excellence and the development of the whole student in a unique learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, original thinking, personal integrity and character through service.

Our vision: Reimagined as an educational innovator empowering students to lead and thrive in a global community.

Thank you for your continued participation and inspiring ideas. If you have questions, please email Mr. Tim Horner, Interim Head of School and Head of Administration at timothy.horner@universitylake.org

What is Strategic Planning?

The ULS "Soaring Beyond Brilliance" strategic planning process is an initiative to build a vision for the future of our school. The seeds of this effort were planted during the winter 2018 Brilliance Assembly. This day-long workshop was led by Matt Saiia '93, and attended by current and past parents, trustees, alumni, teachers and staff. The group discussed what we cherish most about ULS and identified key themes to enhance. This process dovetails with the completion of a renewed accreditation process through ISACS (Independent Schools Association of the Central States).
